So I was working on a new sweater design, when I had the brilliant idea of making matching matching Cowls. Then I thought, why not make it into a Mommy & Me Set?? Right?! Everyone loves a matching Mommy & Me Set.
This beautiful pattern can be made quickly using any Worsted/ Aran Yarn & a size K/ 6.5 mm hook. These are the perfect gift for Valentines Day!! ❤❤ Don't you just love the Valentine's Day Spirit? 😉
Materials:
*Any Worsted Weight yarn
*Size K hook – 6.5 mm
*Tapestry Needle
*Scissors
*Approximately 150-350 yards needed depending on size
Gauge:
5 rows + 5 sts of hdc 3rd row = 2”
Sizes:
*Toddler - 7” Wide, 20” in Circumference
*Child - 9” Wide, 26” in Circumference
*Teen/Adult – 11” wide, 36”( 40”) circumference.
Skill level: Easy/ Intermediate
Abbreviations:
Slip stitch - SL st
Chain - CH
Yarn over – YO.
Space-sp.
Skip space -sk
Double crochet - DC
Half Double Crochet- hdc.
Special Stitches:
*Puff stitch - YO, insert hook into loop, YO, pull though loop, YO, insert hook into the same loop, YO, pull though loop, YO, insert hook into same loop, YO, pull though loop, (total of 7 loops on your hook), YO, pull through all 7 loops, YO, pull though loop to close the stitch
*Hdc in BACK 3rd loop - half double crochet in 3rd HIDDEN loop
*V- Stitch- double crochet, ch 1, double crochet all in the same space

*Color B - Pink
Toddler:
*Starting with your main color—Color A
1. Ch 60, sl st to 1st ch to create a circle, ch1, hdc in same st & in every st around, sl st to 1st hdc. (60 hdc)
2. (Working in the 3rd BACK loop) Ch1, hdc in every st around, sl st to 1st hdc. (60 hdc)
3. (Working in the 3rd BACK loop) Ch1, sc in every st around, sl st to 1st sc. (60 sc)
4. (Switch to Color B) Ch2, dc in same st, *sk 2 sps, 2 puff sts in next st*- rep around, sl st to dc
5. (Switch to Color A) Ch1, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in next st, *2 hdc between the 2 puff sts, hdc in next st*- rep around, hdc in last st, sl st to 1st hdc. (60 hdc)
