The Fall In Love Beanie was designed with the upcoming seasons in mind.

This design was inspired by the magical textures & colors that Fall provides.


The greatest thing about this beanie is the fact that it works up super quick!! No joke, it only took me 2 hours! Talk about crazy fast, right?

Fall In Love Beanie

Materials:


*#4/ Worsted Weight Yarn or #5 Bulky Yarn

~ I used Approximately 240 yards for the Adult

*Size L/8 mm hook (Body)

*Size J/6 mm hook (Brim)

*Tapestry Needle

*Scissors



Gauge:


5sts + 5 rows = 2”


1) Ch 10, sc in 2nd from hook & in each st across, turn

2) Ch 2, Trc in same st, sc in next, *trc, sc* - rep across, turn

3) Ch 1, sc in same st & in each across, turn

4) Rep Rows 2 & 3 – 2 more times




Sizes:

*Toddler/Preschooler (circumference 16-17” hat height 6.5-7”)

*Child (circumference 17-19”, hat height 7.5”)

*Teen/Adult (circumference 20-22”, hat height 9”)



*For a Bigger Adult Size use #5 Bulky Weight Yarn

*Head circumference is actual head measurement.



Skill level: Advanced Beginner/ Intermediate




Yarn Needed:


*Toddler/Preschooler - Approximately 110 Yards

*Child - Approximately 140 Yards

*Teen/Adult - Approximately 240 Yards





Abbreviations:


Repeat - rep

Slip stitch - SL st

Chain - CH

Yarn over – YO Space - sp Skip space - sk Single crochet – sc Half Double Crochet - hdc Triple Crochet – Trc. Front Post Half Double Crochet - Fphdc Back Post Half Double Crochet – Bphdc. Right Side – RS Wrong Side - WS




Notes:


* If you see a specific portion of the pattern in ( ) parentheses, that means the pattern sequence is ALL in that same stitch.

* If you see a specific portion of the pattern in * *, that means the pattern sequence is to be repeated until specified to stop.

* If you see a number before a stitch, that means you make that many stitches in the same stitch.

* EXAMPLE: 3 dc = 3 dc sts in same st

*If you see a number after a stitch, that means you crochet in that many stitches.

*EXAMPLE: sc 5 = sc in next 5 sts

* Ch 2 Does Not Count as 1st st







Pattern





Body:


*The top will start to roll or fold over. That is expected

*You will be working the whole body of the pattern on the Wrong Side

*Use Size L/8 mm hook


1. Make a Magic circle, ch1, 11 hdc in circle, sl st to 1st st. (11 hdc)

• You can substitute the Magic Ring for ch 4, sl st to 1st ch

2. (WS) Ch2, (Trc, sc) in same 1st st, (Trc, sc) in each st around, sl st to 1st st. (22 sts)

3. (WS) Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc next st, *2sc in next st, sc*- rep around, sl st to 1st st. (33 sc)

4. (WS) Ch 2, (Trc, sc) in same 1st st, Trc in next st, sc, *(Trc, sc), Trc in next st, sc in next* - rep around, sl st to 1st st. (44 sts)

• Toddler/Preschooler – skip to Row 9

5. (WS) Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, sc next 10, *2sc in next st, sc next 10* - rep around, sl st to 1st st. (48 sc)

6. (WS) Ch2, (Trc, sc) in same 1st st, *Trc in next st, sc* - rep 4 more times, **(Trc, sc), *Trc next st, sc* - rep 4 more times** - rep ** all the way around, Trc, sc, Trc, sc in last st, sl st to 1st st (52 sts)

• Child – skip to Row 9

7. (WS) Ch 1, 2sc in same st, sc next 12 sts, *2 sc in next st, sc next 12* - rep around, sl st to 1st st. (56 SC)

8. (WS) Ch 2, Trc in same st, sc next st, *Trc in next st, sc* - rep all the way around, sl st to 1st st 44(52, 56) sts

9. (WS) Ch 1, sc in same st & in each st around, sl st to 1st st. 44 (52, 56) sts

10-21. (WS) Rep Rows 8 & 9. 44(52, 56) sts

• Toddler/Preschooler – 3 more times, turn

• Child – 4 more times, turn

• Adult – 5-6 more times, turn




Brim:


*Use Size J/6 mm hook

*You will now be working on the Right Side or the Outside of the hat


22. (RS) Ch 1, Fphdc around same st, Fphdc around next st, Bphdc around next 2 sts, *Fphdc, Fphdc, Bphdc, Bphdc* - rep around, sl st to 1st st. 44(52, 56) sts

23. (RS) Ch 1, Fphdc around 1st Fphdc, Fphdc around next Fphdc, Bphdc around next 2 Bphdc sts, *Fphdc, Fphdc, Bphdc, Bphdc*- rep around, sl st to 1st st. 44(52, 56) sts

24-25. (RS) Rep Row 23 – 2 more times. 44(52, 56) sts

Finish off, weave in ends
